UNICEF statement on situation in Gaza
Posted in down with west on December 31, 2008 by azizzadeh
NEW YORK, 29 December 2008 – UNICEF is deeply concerned about the impact of the current violence in Gaza on children. UNICEF urges all parties to the conflict to abide by their international legal obligation to ensure that children are protected and that they receive essential humanitarian supplies and support.
Over half of the population in Gaza are children, and children are particularly vulnerable in situations of armed conflict. The UN Office of the Humanitarian Coordinator (OCHA) indicates that children are among victims killed and injured as a result of the recent air strikes.
It is critical that humanitarian assistance, including food, medical supplies and equipment be allowed into Gaza to address the urgent needs of children and women.
20,000 Iranians Register to Fight Israel
Posted in news on December 31, 2008 by azizzadehSome 7,000 Iranian students in the central city of Isfahan have volunteered to fight for Palestine against Israel while more students are signing up in Tehran.
“On the first day of registration to fight Zionist regime and to help Palestinians, 7,000 students from the universities of Isfahan have claimed readiness,” Mohammad Zarifi, member of Iran’s Students Islamic Association told FNA.
Also in the day, another Iranian students group, Basij (Volunteer) Students of Tehran Universities, announced it is registering volunteers to fight Israel.
The registration came a day after Iran’s Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a religious decree saying whoever dies in fight with Israel and in defense of Gaza would be a martyr.
Ayatollah Khamenei’s religious decree was not considered a government decision and did not oblige the government to launch attacks against Israel.
Raid on Gaza
Posted in attacks on December 30, 2008 by azizzadehIsrael’s attack on Gaza is worth considering from different angles. First, it can be said that the most important reason is the opposition of Hamas towards the policies of the Palestinian Authority, especially its chief and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. The second most important reason can be the silence of the Arab heads of states vis-ˆ-vis what is going on in the occupied territories. However, the residents of Gaza know well how to resist against the Zionist aggressions and they will mark another victory against the Zionists as Hezbollah did during the 33-day resistance against Israel’s attacks on southern Lebanon. Moreover, Hamas is now in a very good situation because it has managed to reinforce its forces. Furthermore, Hamas enjoys support of the majority of the Palestinians. It seems that Israel’s attacks on Gaza are not temporary and the Zionist regime pursues long-term objectives in launching attacks on Gaza and the occupied territories. There are two reasons behind the continuation of Gaza attacks in the coming days. First, Israel will only halt its attacks if Hamas retreats from its stances and accepts the truce with Tel Aviv which is something quite unlikely. Second, not recognizing Hamas by Western and Arab countries has paved the way for Israel to dare to kill the innocent civilians in Gaza.
Leader’s Message
Posted in news on December 30, 2008 by azizzadehLeader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in his message condemned the genocide in Gaza and while calling the Zionists as blasphemers said that all crusaders of Palestine and the Muslim world are duty-bound to defend the defenseless children and women of Gaza Strip. Attacks on Gaza show that Israel is trying to create another human tragedy in the occupied territories. The message of Ayatollah Khamenei tells Muslims that they should unite against Israel’s atrocities in the occupied territories and do something to stop the killing of innocent civilians in Gaza. If the Muslims throughout the world, especially in Arab countries considered people of Gaza as Muslim and Arab and they pressured their leader to do something against the Israeli aggressions in the Palestinian territories, the Zionist regime of Israel would not dare to kill so many Palestinians now. Maybe the time is now ripe for the Muslim nations to revolt against their mercenary rulers. Why have international human rights organizations have kept silent at so many crimes in the occupied territories? Aren’t the crimes against Palestinians considered as crimes against humanity?
Israeli Bombs
Posted in down with israel on December 30, 2008 by azizzadehThe Israel Air Force used a new bunker-buster missile that it received recently from the United States in strikes against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip on Saturday.
The missile, called GBU-39, was developed in recent years by the US as a small-diameter bomb for low-cost, high-precision and low collateral damage strikes, Jerusalem Post reported.
During three days of air strikes on Gaza, the Zionist regime killed more than 340 people and wounded 1550.
Israel received approval from Congress to purchase 1,000 units in September and defense officials said on Sunday the first shipment had arrived earlier this month and was used successfully in penetrating underground Kassam launchers in the Gaza Strip during the heavy aerial bombardment of Hamas infrastructure in Gaza Strip on Saturday. It was also used in Sunday’s bombing of tunnels in Rafah.
The GPS-guided GBU-39 is said to be one of the most accurate bombs in the world. The 113-kg bomb has the same penetration capabilities as a 900-kg bomb, although it has only 22.7 kg of explosives.
Tests conducted in the US have proven that the bomb is capable of penetrating at least 90 cm of steel-reinforced concrete. The GBU-39 can be used in adverse weather conditions and has a standoff range of more than 110 km due to pop-out wings.
Attacks Planned Months Ago
Posted in down with israel on December 30, 2008 by azizzadehIsrael’s ongoing onslaught on the sealed off Gaza Strip, marketed to the world as a response to Palestinian rocket-firing, was planned six months ago and is Israel’s version of America’s “shock and awe“ campaign against Iraq, Haaretz reported on Sunday.
“Long-term preparation, careful gathering of information, secret discussions, operational deception and the misleading of the public–all these stood behind the Israel Defense Forces “Cast Lead“ operation against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip,“ the Israeli daily wrote.
Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak ordered the army to plan for the offensive more than six months ago, even as Israel was negotiating an Egyptian-brokered truce deal.
Israeli public radio said some 20 air strikes had been staged overnight.
The Zionist regime warned on Sunday that it could send ground troops into the overcrowded enclave.
“We are ready for anything. If it’s necessary to deploy ground forces to defend our citizens, we will do so,“ a Barak spokesman said.
To international associations
Posted in holocaust on December 30, 2008 by azizzadehYou always make resolutions even for the least word on history forged by Zionist forces and don’t even allow any scientific work to be done on how these Zionist forces were made. You who always make resolutions on small problems of independent countries like Syria, Lebanon, Iran and Afghanistan! You who always talk about human rights and the need to have human rights … aren’t it the right time to open your eyes and see the realities? Haven’t you seen the bullet which has gone into a suckling baby’s stomach? Speaking the truth, for what sins have they been killed? Don’t you see the tears of oppressed mothers and children of Gaza who are crying for their fathers, husbands, brothers, sisters and mothers? Believe that your acting will be kept in nation’s historical memory, and no longer will be disintegrated because of this partisan acting of yours and a new system will be ruled over international associations. A kind of system based upon justice and human rights, which you have never heard anything about it.
